Unfortunately, stents tend to become clogged again over time and Dr. Lee became interested in finding alternatives to treating patients with chronic diseases and pursued studies in alternative and complementary medicine.

His studies lead him to spend many years of time exploring a vast amount of research work to see if there exists a better solution for cardiac care then using stents and heart surgery.

These many years of research and academic work have enabled Dr. Lee to build and develop new protocols to treat his patients and are now available for your benefit.. He currently integrates acupuncture and herbs into his patient care as part of these unique protocols. This new approach to treating Heart Disease, preventing heart attacks, strokes and vascular disease focuses on the metabolism and using alternative therapies combined with conventional cardiology. It is called Metabolic Cardiology and is discussed below.

Dr. Lee also has extended these protocols to using a functional medicine approach for treating patients with Chronic Fatigue, Thyroid Conditions, autoimmune syndromes, Allergies , Chronic Pain, and many other conditions. Most of his patients are treated with a combination of Eastern and Western medicine including acupuncture, chelation, supplements and nutrition therapy.

OUR INNOVATIVE METABOLIC CARDIOLOGY HEART DISEASE PREVENTION PROGRAM

The Center offers a complete cardiac health care program that combines the best of conventional medical and complementary medicine for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular problems. Heart disease is the #1 health problem for both women and men in the United States.

Almost 700,000 people die of heart disease in the U.S. each year. That is about 29% of all U.S. deaths. The risk of coronary heart disease can be reduced by taking steps to prevent and control those adverse factors that put people at greater risk for heart disease and heart attack. Risk factors that need more attention include diet, nutrition and elimination of toxic metals from the body.

Our Cardiac Prevention Program includes the following forms of diagnostic testing:

Echocardiography: Non-invasive ultrasound of the heart to view the heart valves.

Stress echocardiography: Ultrasound of the heart before and after treadmill exercise to evaluate coronary artery disease.

Carotid duplex scans: Non-invasive ultrasound of the arteries that supply blood to the brain, neck, face and head.

Arrhythmia Services: Includes 24-hour ECG recordings and event monitors to evaluate heart palpitations and irregular heartbeats.

Tilt table testing: A non-invasive diagnostic tool for the evaluation of fainting (syncope).

Cardiac risk factor blood panel profile: In addition to lipid profiles and metabolic chemistries, we also include tests for C-reactive protein, lipoprotein a, homocysteine, serum amyloid A and interleukin 6.

We are located at: Patients Medical PC, 800 Second Avenue, Suite 900 (Between 42nd & 43rd Street), Manhattan, NYC, New York, NY 10017.
